PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a skin pass rolling stand 8 in a continuous pickling - rolling line and efficiently produce a pickled material P having a good surface skin. SOLUTION: When producing the pickled material P in the continuous pickling - rolling line in which rolling stands 3 are arranged in series in an acid bath, work rolls of the rolling stands 3 are retreated from a pass line for the pickled material P, and this pickled material P is rolled under low pressure in a skin pass rolling stand 8 which is arranged on the outlet side of the rolling stands 3.
