PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball pin chuck with one clamp piston 7 axially movable in one chuck body 2, optionally enabling accurate fixation so as to achieve highest repeatability for an axial position of a work. SOLUTION: The clamp piston 7 is provided with a plurality of ball pins 4 allocated for the chuck body 2 connected with a plurality of clamping jaws 5. The plurality of ball pins 4 are arranged on one chuck plate 3 installed so as to be axially movable towards the chuck body 2 against the force of at least one spring 21. A switching member 22 can shift between a retaining position/posture for blocking elastic elongation/contraction of the chuck plate 3 and drawn-down position/posture allowing the free elastic elongation/ contraction.
