PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a toothed belt of a thermoplastic elastomer without a disorderly core arrangement by smoothing a molten resin flow, and a mold assembly. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toothed belt comprises the following steps: (1) An inner mold 20 with a first cap body 25, having rising parts 32 radially arranged on a conical face, and also with a part 22 for molding a tooth part, is set in a space 3 of an outer mold 2, and an area from inclined flow paths 33 to a cavity 38 formed between the cap body 25 and the outer mold 2 is filled with the molten resin. (2) A core 45 is wound around the peripheral face of a preliminarily molded layer 40 of the inner mold 20 from which the first cap 25 is removed. (3) The inner mold 20 with a second cap body 26 fitted to the head of the inner mold 20 is set in the other space 4 of the outer mold 2 and then, the molten resin is once stored in a ring-like reservoir part 12 from the inclined flow paths 33 radially arranged. After that, the cavity 38 is filled with the molten resin to form a belt back layer 47. (4) A belt sleeve 48 is released and finished into the toothed belt. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
