PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium primary cell having a high discharge capacity, an energy density, a high output, and a long life. SOLUTION: This is the lithium primary cell provided with a positive electrode for the lithium primary cell and the positive electrode characterized that at least one kind of a metal oxide selected from a group composed of titanium dioxide, alumina, zinc oxide, chromium oxide, lithium oxide, nickel oxide, copper oxide and iron oxide. Furthermore, this is the manufacturing method of the positive electrode for the lithium primary battery characterized in that (I) a mixture solution is manufactured by adding and mixing manganese dioxide and a specific metal alkoxide in an organic solvent, (II) a metal hydroxide is formed by adding water to the mixture solution, (III) the metal hydroxide is converted into a metal oxide by heating and drying the formed solution, and powders for the positive electrode wherein the metal hydroxide is dispersed among particles of manganese dioxide are manufactured, and (IV) the powders for the positive electrode are molded.
