PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member having highly improved electrophotographic characteristics, on condition that uneven coating occurs due to the sagging of coating liquid at manufacturing the electrophotographic photosensitive member in order to accomplish the miniaturization, the cost reduction and the high image quality, and to provide a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus equipped with the electrophotographic photosensitive member. SOLUTION: As for the electrophotographic photosensitive member, in an area where the film thickness a<SB>0</SB>(μm) of a charge transfer layer at the center part of a conductive support in its generatrix direction, the film thickness b<SB>0</SB>(μm) of a protective layer at the center part of the conductive support in its generatrix direction, the film thickness a (μm) of the charge transfer layer at the part other than the center part and the film thickness b (μm) of the protective layer at the part other than the center part satisfy the expression of 0.8 (μm)≤(a<SB>0</SB>-a)≤3.0 (μm), the electrophotographic photosensitive member satisfies the following expression (1); b<SB>0</SB>×(a/a<SB>0</SB>)<SP>3</SP>≤b (μm)≤b<SB>0</SB>×(a/a<SB>0</SB>)<SP>1/4</SP>...(1).
