PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish the most effective communication means between a control device and an interface device by utilizing hierarchy of the communication means. SOLUTION: The control device inquires the interface device for a manufacturer of the interface device. When the manufacturer can be determined, the control device inquires the interface device for a model of the interface device. The inquiry about the model is made to the interface device by utilizing the identity of the manufacturer by using a communication means specified to the manufacturer.
