PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain activated carbon for decomposing hydrogen peroxide capable of decomposing hydrogen peroxide in hydrogen peroxide-containing wastewater with high efficiency over a long period of time, and to provide a treatment method for hydrogen peroxide-containing wastewater. SOLUTION: A compound of at least one metal selected from Ag, Pt, Pd, Cu and Fe and an activated carbon precursor are kneaded and dispersed to obtain a mixture. This mixture is subjected to infusible treatment and/or carbonation treatment and the treated mixture is subsequently activated to obtain hydrogen peroxide decomposing activated carbon with a metal content of 0.01 mass % or more being a decomposition material for hydrogen peroxide.
