ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM, AND ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSIS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to obtain detailed information concerning local tissue characteristics of cardiac muscles using ultrasonic backscatter IB for more correctly making diagnosis of heart diseases in an ultrasonic diagnosis system for transmitting an ultrasonic beam to a heart tissue, receiving reflected waves of it for analysis, and forming a diagnosis image or the like. SOLUTION: Reflected wave signals received from a region of interest of living tissues of the heart or the like are analyzed to measure backscatter strength by scattering waves from the region of interest, and frequency of several tens to several hundreds Hz as fluctuating frequency of the backscatter strength is detected to be usable as diagnosis data. For increasing time resolution, ultrasonic pulses are transmitted at high repeated transmission frequency of several kHz. Size of the fluctuating frequency is converted into color to be overlapped and displayed in an M-mode image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
