PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage both noise characteristics over a wide band and power conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: A noise avoidance light supplier for supplying noise avoidance light along the opposite direction to the signal propagation direction is provided to an optical fiber 2 for amplification where excitation light is supplied from excitation light suppliers 3, 4, 6, and 7, thus performing the induced emission of energy at an excitation level in the optical amplifier 2 for amplification, and consuming energy at the excitation level that may become remaining natural emission light in the optical fiber for amplifying the noise avoidance light.
