PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet for an absorptive article, in which a liquid excreted on the surface, especially a highly viscous liquid, is difficult to remain on the surface and becoming stuffy, a rash or the like is difficult to occur, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: In the surface sheet 10A for the absorptive article, a first layer 1 arranged on the skin side and a second layer arranged on the absorbent side are laminated and both the layers are partly connected to form a connecting portion 3 of a predetermined pattern, and the part other than the connecting portion 3 in the first layer is in a convex form and the second layer has a slit 5. In the manufacturing method of the surface sheet, after putting the slit into the second layer 2, the first and second layers 1 and 2 are laminated to be partly connected, and then, the second layer 2 is contracted by heat contraction, and the slit is extended to open.
