PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair iron with which a user selectively enjoys sufficient minus ion effect on his/her hair and efficiently performs hairdressing. SOLUTION: The hair iron has a grip 1 and a hair care section 2 attached to the grip 1, the hair care section 2 has a heater, and hair care such as hairdressing is performed by bringing the hair into contact with the heater. A minus ion generating device 4 is mounted inside the grip 1 for generating minus ions by discharging, and discharge ports 9 for discharging the minus ions generated by the minus ion generating device 4 are opened toward the hair care section 2.
