PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display method for improving the operability and the input processing efficiency by instantaneously displaying a GUI screen to a user at the time of starting a GUI (graphical user interface) application, and accepting the input of a user in a period when start processing is excited. SOLUTION: An image display device 1 is provided with a display 9 for displaying information, a key 8 for inputting information to be displayed at the display 9, a window manager 7 for executing processing to display the frame of a GUI component to be displayed at the display 9 on the display 9, and a GUI application 2 for executing processing to display contents to be displayed on the display 9 based on the completion information of the display processing of the frame of the GUI component from the window manager 7.
