<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in quality of a reproduced image caused by the delay of compression coding processing, transmission delay of compressed image data, or a transmission error, and to prevent accumulation of delay time intervals. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image communication system is provided with a moving image transmitter 10 which transmits compressed image data obtained by compression-coding original image data of a moving image via a network, and a moving image display 20 which displays reproduced image data obtained by decoding the compressed image data. The image transmitter 10 is equipped with a compression coding means 12 which forms two kinds of compressed image data of I/P frames from the original image data. The coding means 12 suspends compression coding processing of a frame, and performs compression-coding processing of the next frame, when processing time for compression coding of the one frame exceeds a threshold value Tx to be set beforehand. Namely, accumulation of delay time intervals in the display 20 which receives compressed image data caused by delay of the compression coding processing can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
