<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect vehicles entering a specified area from various directions. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle tracking sensor comprises a vehicle tracking camera 2 shooting a moving image of a road on which the vehicle travels, and a vehicle entering detecting portion 32 detecting that the vehicle enters the specified area 10 on the basis of the moving image. The vehicle tracking camera 12 keeping a visual field 12 that is longer in a lane direction than in a width direction and shooting the image of the road from a vertically upper part by using a wide-angle lens 23. The visual field 12 of the vehicle tracking camera 12 is formed by the specified area 10 and an area surrounding the outside of the specified area 10. The vehicle enter the specified area 10 after entering the visual field 12 of the vehicle tracking camera 2.
