PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform suitable interpolation even in a half-tone binarized image caused by error diffusion or the like. SOLUTION: While inputting an image read signal from a hand scanner to an A/D converting part 1 and converting the signal to a multilevel digital signal, a skip notification part 3 detects the presence/absence of a skip and when the skip is detected, a selector 4 is switched to the side of a line buffer 2 for multilevel images. The line buffer 2 for multilevel images stores multilevel image data for one line and in a binarizing processing part 5, interpolation processing is performed by using the stored multilevel image data for one line. When no skip is detected, the selector 4 applies the multilevel image data from the A/D converting part 1 to the binarizing processing part 5 to binarized the data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
