PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for cutting an iron core efficiently and surely cutting a laminated iron core which is removed from a used transformer or the like by disassembling. SOLUTION: The device for cutting an iron core has a turntable 16 on which the laminated iron core 10 is placed, a lower side press member 52 and an upper side press member 54 for pressing a core 34 arranged on the inner hollow part side of the laminated iron core 10, and a cutting edge 24 for cutting the laminated iron core 10 from the outside of the laminated iron core 10.
