PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor for performing color conversion with high quality while placing a limit on the number of profiles. SOLUTION: In a step S103, an ICC (International Color Consortium) profile used for color conversion of a pre-stage is decided. In a step S104, the type of the ICC profile is discriminated. In a step S105 the profile used for color conversion of a post-stage is decided on the basis of the type of the ICC profile. When the ICC profile is intended for a monitor, the profile of the post-stage is uniquely decided. Further, in a step S108, the read image data are outputted after applying color conversion based on the individual profile to the data in a step S107. Thus, the image processor can perform color conversion with high quality while placing a limit on the number of prepared profiles in advance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
