PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine equipped with a core formed by layering a plurality of electrical steel sheets, capable of eliminating a clearance between the slot inner wall surface of the core and a coil. SOLUTION: This rotary electric machine, which is formed by layering the plurality of electrical steel sheets 1A, equipped with the core 1 having a lot 3 for coil fitting, and which includes a close-contact layer 8 contacting the slot inner wall surface and an receiving layer 9 and is intervened between the close-contact layer 8 and the coil 4 and having a plurality of through holes 11, prevents the extrusion of the close-contact layer 8 and surely eliminates the clearance between the slot inner wall surface and the coil 4.
