PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to compact a case of the air conditioner to reduce space occupied by the air conditioner in the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes an evaporator(2) cooling down air; a heater core(3) installed to be separated from the evaporator, and heating air; and a case(1). The case includes a lower case(1b) having a heat exchange part including the evaporator, the heater core, and a main temperature door(4) installed in such a manner that the main temperature door is rotated between the evaporator and the heater core to control wind volume of air; an upper case(1a) installed integrally with an upper part of the lower case in such a manner that the upper case is connected with the lower case, and having a mode bleeding part(60) formed thereon to bleed air having exchanged heat in the heat exchange part for each of modes; and a partition(11) installed between the upper case and the lower case so that the partition partitions the upper case and the lower case, and having an air mixing channel(50) formed on one side thereof to allow the upper case and the lower case to be connected with each other so as to guide air having exchanged heat to the mode bleeding part.
