PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newspaper preparing method using one printing unit capable of preparing newspapers having different numbers of pages and different numbers of colors. SOLUTION: A plurality of printing lines having different printed contents are as one printing cycle printed repetitively in the printing direction on both surfaces of a continuous sheet of paper 1 using a digital printer where at least two printed surfaces are mating with each other on the two sides of the continuous sheet in its width direction, and the sheet is cut for each printing cycle containing certain printed lines and for two pages as one spread and set out, for each cycle, and a fold is given to each set in the form of a spread.
