PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device as improvement of a conventional technique in which the motion to return to the sheet delivery side (home position) of a pass gate is made in such a condition that the inertial force of a link arm and the force of a tensile spring act in the regular direction, and therefore may exceed the braking force of a motor at the time of stopping in the home position to cause an overrun over the stopping position. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device includes a changeover mechanism part equipped with the gate to make changing-over, etc., of the advancing direction of each sheet of paper transported, the tensile spring to fix the gate to one direction, the motor to drive the gate, the link arm connected to the gate and transmitting the drive force of the motor, and a sensor to sense the position of the link arm, wherein when the tensile spring is moved in the returning direction when the motor is stopped, it passes once over the position where it should stop and then stops by operating the tensile spring in the elongating direction.
