PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce an MP3 file and to play a copyright protection disk on a music only player. SOLUTION: Determination is made as to whether audio data is continuously recorded or not from the head address of a data area adjacent to management data recorded on the innermost periphery of an optical disk (F106) and, in accordance with the result of the determination, access is made to the head address of the data area to reproduce audio data irrespective of the contents of the management data recorded on the innermost periphery of the optical disk (F107). Thus, a music file such as the MP3 file of a CD-ROM format or the like is reproduced, and even a copyright protection disk 2 which is made unreproducible by a CD-ROM drive or the like is played.
