<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display having a constitution of low manufacturing cost and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The display is provided with a pair of substrates 1 and 11 which are opposed to each other. The space between the pair of the substrates is filled with liquid crystals. Scattering layers 8 and 9 are provided on one of the pair of the substrates to scatter light beams.
