PURPOSE: A direct coupled motor is provided to reduce noises and energy consumption, while achieving improved strength of the rotor and washing ability. CONSTITUTION: A direct coupled motor(5) comprises a stator(14) and a rotor(13) covering the stator. The rotor includes a rear wall(13a) made of a steel material and a side wall(13b) formed integrally with the rear wall and made of a steel material. The rear wall has a center on which a hub portion(132) and an embossed portion(135) are formed. The hub portion has an inclined surface and a horizontal surface protruded into a predetermined height from the rear wall. The embossed portion starts from a certain part of the hub portion and is formed between the outer surfaces of the rear wall so as to achieve improved strength.
