PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), a method for manufacturing the same and an electronic appliance are provided so that a substrate gap is easily and uniformly made in a substrate face and the occurrence of a vacuum region in a liquid crystal layer at low temperature is prevented by the arrangement of spacers. CONSTITUTION: A spacer(25) is arranged between a pair of substrates(10,20) holding a liquid crystal(50). The liquid crystal and the spacer are disposed inside a frame-like sealing material which is closed in a region of a substrate face. The density of the spacer in the sealing material is controlled to 100 particles/mm2 to 300 particles/mm2. In case that d is the layer thickness of a liquid crystal layer in the region where the spacer is arranged, the average particle size(D) of the spacer is controlled to 0.96d to 1.02d.
