<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correspond an opening of a bypass passage serving as a reference of an idle control to a control pulse of a step motor in an intake air amount control device for an engine. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit is capable of controlling operation of the step motor to perform the idle control by adjusting the opening of the bypass passage after detecting a full closed position of a throttle valve with an opening sensor. When the opening of the bypass passage to be the reference of the idle control is related to the control pulse of the step motor, the number of operating pulse of the step motor is reset so that the position where the idle adjusting valve is driven to an opening valve side by prescribed quantity after the idle adjusting valve is temporarily driven up to its full closed position is made to be the control reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
