<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for splitting and removing chromosome in a yeast body. <P>SOLUTION: The method for easily modifying the chromosome in a yeast cell comprises a step to prepare a linearized chromosome splitting vector (1) containing a telomere sequence (a), a centromere sequence of a yeast chromosome and a target sequence (a) in the order; a step to prepare a linearized chromosome splitting vector (2) containing a target sequence (b), a marker gene sequence and a telomere sequence (b) in the order provided that the telomere sequence (b) is positioned reverse to the telomere sequence (a); and a step to insert the chromosome splitting vectors (1) and (2) into a yeast cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
