<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter which is suitable to a color liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the color filter includes a contaminations detecting process of detecting contaminations present in a plurality of colored layers of the color filter or on their surfaces, a contaminations removing process of irradiating the area where the contaminations detected by the contaminations detecting process exists with laser light to remove the contaminations and colored layers in the area, and a correcting process of correcting defects of the colored layers caused in the contaminations removing process by applying and curing a composition for the colored layers, and the contaminations removing process is carried out over the entire area of the colored layers where the contaminations are present and the correcting process is applied for each of colored layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
