<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital protecting and controlling device wherein data transmission within equipment is carried out with efficiency and thus protecting and controlling capabilities are enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The digital protecting and controlling device comprises a digital data consolidating means coupled with a sensor unit by a communicating means, a protecting and controlling means, a communicating means for an equipment controller connected with the equipment controller by a communicating means, and a process bus communicating means. At least some of these means are coupled with each other through a parallel transmission medium, and at least part of data transmission is carried out by a multimaster method. By adopting multimaster transmission, each means can independently send and receive data, and the imbalance of a communication load can be reduced. This reduces the possibility that data bus processing is concentrated to a specific means, and thus the time response of the operation of the entire digital protecting and controlling device is degraded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
