<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of the entire communication system that gains the transfer route of a transponder. <P>SOLUTION: Subsidiary interrogators 3a to 3k send subsidiary interrogating waves having information on their own ID numbers. When responders 4a to 4c receive the subsidiary interrogating waves from the interrogators 3a to 3k, they write the ID numbers contained in the subsidiary interrogating waves in a built-in memory in time series. The main interrogator 2 sends main interrogating waves having information on its own ID number.
