PURPOSE: A device for controlling power on a portable computer is provided to efficiently prevent the battery power of a limited capacity from being unnecessarily consumed as the always power. CONSTITUTION: The first FET(Field Effect Transistor)(21) selectively supplies one of the AC adaptor power and the battery power as the system power. The second FET(23) selectively intercepts the battery power supplied to the first FET depending on an open/close state of an LCD. The third FET(24) selectively intercepts the battery power supplied to the first FET depending on an on/off state of a power button. In case that the AC adaptor power is applied, the first FET selectively supplies the AC adaptor power as the system power.
