PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for driving an LCD are provided to remove a distortion of color due to a cumulative response by supplying a reset pulse to a gate line after turning on a lamp. CONSTITUTION: One frame is divided into three sub-frames of a red frame, a green frame, and a blue frame. Each sub-frame includes a pulse generation process, a data supply process, a voltage sustaining process, an irradiating process, and a reset data supply process. The pulse generation process is to generate a gate pulse and a reset pulse. The data supply process is to supply data to liquid crystal cells in response to the gate pulse. The voltage sustaining process is to sustain each voltage of the liquid crystal cells. The irradiating process is to irradiate one beam of red beam, green beam, and blue beam to the liquid crystal cells. The reset data supply process is to supply the reset data to the liquid crystal cells in response to the reset pulse.
