METHOD FOR CONVERTING OPERATION MODE OF TERMINAL AT SPECIFIC PLACE BY USING POSITION INFORMATION PROVIDED BY GPS AND BASE STATION AND TERMINAL HAVING THE SAME FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A method for converting an operation mode of a terminal at a specific place by using a position information provided by a GPS and a base station and the terminal having the same function are provided not to cause others' inconvenience due to noise in a certain space by automatically switching a mobile terminal to a non-sound, lamp, vibration or reception cut-off mode. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal periodically receives its current position information from a GPS satellite and a base station in an idle state. The current position of the terminal and position information data previously set/stored in a terminal memory by a user are compared, and if the terminal is determined to have entered into a pre-set position range, an operation mode of the terminal is automatically switched into a vibration mode or a reception cut-off mode. The user terminal periodically checks whether it is out of the pre-set position range in an idle state, and if the user terminal is out of the pre-set range, the mode of the user terminal is automatically switched to the previous mode from the vibration mode or the reception cut-off mode.
