<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cooling a hot rolled steel sheet, by which warping of the hot rolled steel sheet can be prevented using a group of cooling nozzle units without providing special equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The method for cooling the hot rolled steel sheet uses a group of the cooling nozzle units, in which a plurality of cooling nozzle units having a pair of vertically confronting cooling nozzles for cooling the upper and lower surfaces of the steel sheet after finish rolling are arranged at the exit side of a finish rolling machine. At least the first cooling nozzle unit among a plurality of the cooling nozzle units composing the group of the cooling nozzle units jets cooling water in different quantity density of water from the upper and lower cooling nozzles toward the upper and lower surfaces of the steel sheet. By this method, the warping in the lateral direction, which occurs over the whole length of the steel sheet, is corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
