PURPOSE: A pallet detection device for a boring machine is provided to control the position of a pallet with a feedback mechanism by installing a position encoder in an encoder housing on a pallet base. CONSTITUTION: A machining center is composed of a table(20) moving on a bed, a pallet base(30) pivotally installed on the table, and a pallet(40) detachably fixed at the pallet base for moving workpieces. A pallet detection device comprises a hollow fixable shaft(60) on the pallet base, supporting bearings(31) installed between the fixable shaft and pallet base, a hollow encoder shaft(50) engaged to the fixable shaft with a bolt(90), a rotatable shaft(70), an encoder housing(51) engaged with the encoder shaft, a position encoder(51a) for detecting the position of the pallet, and a manifold housing(72) engaged with the rotatable shaft.
