PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to achieve improved operating ability when the engine is converted from a power-off state into a power-on state. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a throttle opening detection unit(10) for detecting changes of the degree of opening of the throttle which opens/shuts in accordance with the operation of an accelerating pedal; an engine RPM detection unit(20) for detecting the current engine RPM; an output shaft rotational frequency detection unit(30) for detecting the rotational frequency of the output shaft connected through a clutch; a control unit(40) for judging whether the condition for anti-jerk control mode is satisfied, through the analysis of the information on the degree of opening of the throttle, engine RPM and output shaft rotational frequency, and performing an anti-jerk control operation in accordance with the changes of the degree of opening of the throttle when the condition is satisfied; and an ignition unit(50) for controlling ignition timing of each cylinder in accordance with the control signal applied from the control unit.
