EXHAUST GAS CLEANING CATALYST AND EXHAUST GAS CLEANING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst having an excellent NOx cleaning capacity even after lasting use when exhaust gas containing much oxygen is cleaned, and an exhaust gas cleaning method using the catalyst.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst contains copper oxide and ZSM-5 and/or zeolite β and an oxide of at least one kind of an element selected from the group consisting of magnesium, calcium and silver is further added to the catalyst. This catalyst is used in the exhaust gas cleaning method.
