END CONNECTION FOR PACKING STRAP

The seal of a metal strapping has overlapping ends (1,2) for the band ends, and the band ends for forming a seal each have at least one and preferably several hook contour pairs (3) equally spaced in a row over the band's extent. At least one interconnected hook contour pair is immovably locked in the longitudinal direction of the band by a deformation zone (4) orientated at right angles to the plane of the band. The deformation zone is in the form of a pyramid or cone. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a procedure for the manufacture of a seal; and (b) a tool to manufacture the seal.
