PURPOSE: A seat belt retractor for a vehicle is provided to promptly cope with a trouble of a vehicle by preparing a webbing sensor for promptly sensing the webbing acceleration of a seat belt and a load control unit for controlling the load applied excessively to a webbing. CONSTITUTION: A seat belt retractor for a vehicle comprises a frame(10), a spool(20) consisting of a winding unit(21), a center shaft(24), a right flange(22) and a stopping unit(23), a load control unit(30) consisting of a torsion bar(31) rotating with the center shaft of the spool, a friction disk(32) controlling the torque of the torsion bar and a sprocket(35) placed adjacent to a flange(34), a locking unit consisting of a latch(41), a guide pin(42), a fixing pin(44) rotating in a pin hole(43) and a spring(46) connected with the guide pin, a webbing sensor detecting the acceleration of a webbing, and a vehicle sensor(80) detecting the trouble of a vehicle.
