<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored layer material that can display the best colore reproducibility when a white LED is used as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The colored layer material with ≥70% maximum transmissivity at 465 to 620 nm is adjusted so that 380 to 465 nm mean transmissivity becomes larger than 620 to 780 nm mean transmissivity. A color filter substrate for liquid crystal device is formed by using this colored layer material and then a spectral characteristic of a colored layer of the G (green) color can be optimized for an LED light source.
