PURPOSE: A digital image editing system and a method of operating the system are provided to have various effects on a digital image of a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A digital image editing system includes a camera unit(100), a pre-processor(110), a memory(140), a post-processor(130), a video codec(120), and a display(150). The camera unit converts a photographed image into a digital video signal. The pre-processor converts a color format of the digital video signal and processes digital effects on the video signal. The memory stores the digital video signal processed by the pre-processor. The post-processor converts a color format of the digital video signal read from the memory and processes digital effects on the video signal. The video codec receives the digital video signal from the pre-processor to compress the video signal or reads the digital video signal from the memory and reproduces the video signal to transmit the video signal to the post-processor. The display displays an image corresponding to the video signal received from the post-processor.
