<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a catalytic combustor burn an exhaust fuel from fuel cells thoroughly. <P>SOLUTION: An anode off-gas exhausted from an anode electrode of a fuel cell is supplied through an anode off-gas supply pipe 21 to a catalytic combustor 23, and a cathode off-gas exhausted from a cathode electrode is supplied through a cathode off-gas supply pipe 25 to the catalytic combustor 23. A nozzle 39 at an end of the anode off-gas supply pipe 21 is placed at the center portion of a cylinder shaped housing 35 of the catalytic combustor 23, and generates a swirl flow in an anode off-gas jetted from the nozzle 39. The swirl flow disperses condensed water contained in the anode off-gas toward the periphery, and prevents the condensed water from coming into direct contact with a catalyst 37. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
