PURPOSE: A method for displaying data information to be deleted in a monitoring DVR(Digital Video Recorder) is provided to retrieve management information on data to be deleted, when a data overlapping record process is performed, and to output the information with an OSD image, so that a user can previously recognize the data to be deleted. CONSTITUTION: A DVR performs a series of monitoring operations(S10), and continuously checks a data recording rate of a hard disk(S11). The DVR checks whether a current data recording rate reaches a recording capacity by 100%(S12). If not, and if a user requests a data recording state to be outputted with an OSD image(S13), the DVR automatically carries out a series of OSD image-outputting operations(S15). The DVR retrieves management information on a data file to be deleted, and outputs the information with an OSD image(S16). If the user selectively designates a backup menu button(S17), the DVR backs up the data file to be deleted, and overlaps/records new monitored data(S18).
