<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-handle reader/writer for an IC card, connected to a terminal of a PC or the like for use, not occupying a placing space on a desk. <P>SOLUTION: This reader/writer 1 for the IC card having a terminal board based on the ISO standard 7816 has a structure wherein a card holder 11 having the terminal board 14 and a USB socket 16, and allowing insertion of the IC card, and a holder base 12 having a USB acceptance socket 17 and a USB cable 18 can be used by engaging the USB socket and the USB acceptance socket. By the structure, the reader/writer 1 for the IC card can be used as a reader/writer for the IC card in an engaging state of the card holder 11 with the holder base 12, and can be also used as a reader/writer for the IC card by only the card holder 11 by directly engaging the USB socket 16 of the card holder with a personal computer without using the card holder base. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
