<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a device for power supply, which is the subject of authentication and charging, matches electric equipment being supplied with electric power. <P>SOLUTION: This power supply charging system supplies electric power to a notebook PC 100, provides a communication line, and charges the electric equipment for the use of electric power. The system is provided with a power supply device 200 including a power-line LAN control means for supplying electric power and communication signals to the electric equipment. The power supply device 200 acquires the user's ID and password from the notebook PC 100 via a power-line LAN and the user is authenticated by an authentication server 32. Also, electric power is supplied via the power-line LAN.
