摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect short-length unit materials into an arbitrary length, without requiring preparation of members for connection, when using a connecting device or the like, and the screwing and fastening work or the like of the members. <P>SOLUTION: The short-length unit materials P1, P2 of, for example, of about 20 meters, with each spirally wound with a strip-shaped metal plate material 2 having an almost S-shape for its cross section, formed by being bent into a groove shape at its both ends in directions opposite to each other, and the rims are engaged with each other. A long-length flexible tube is formed, by sequentially connecting a plurality of unit materials P. In prolonging lengthening the materials, the unit material P2 is engaged with the unit material P1, while the external peripheral side linear part 2C of the tip 2a of the second unit material P2 is inserted into a groove 4 at the internal peripheral side of the outward lock-side rim 2B of the tip 2a of the first unit material P1; and the unit material P1 is circumferentially rotated in this state, thus engaging the unit material P1 and the unit material P2. The long-length flexible tube 100 can be formed, by connecting the short-length unit materials P into an arbitrary length, without using connection tools or connecting devices, so that the shape and the diameter of the unit material do not change, even in a connection part while keeping the dimensions and the shape of the flexible tube.
