FIELD: feed production. ^ SUBSTANCE: manufacture of product for domestic animals such as cats and dogs comprises following stages: (i) formation of first product component containing mixture of lipid and solid ingredients constituting a matrix with cream-like texture, the first composition being formed with total moisture below about 15 wt % and with moisture activity below about 0.65; (ii) formation of cereal-based second product component, said second component having total moisture below about 20 wt %; and (ii) jointly extruding said first component inside said second component to form double-textured product wherein harder outside component entirely surrounds internal cream-like component. ^ EFFECT: increased storage stability and improved taste. ^ 22 cl, 13 tbl, 11 ex |
