PURPOSE: A preamble transmitter and receiver of a UWB(Ultra Wide Band) communication system and a transmitting and receiving method thereof are provided to apply an aperiodic sequence and a periodic sequence according to characteristics by dividing a preamble of a physical layer into a synchronous preamble and a channel estimation preamble. CONSTITUTION: A preamble transmitter of a UWB communication system includes a first preamble generator, a second preamble generator, and a transmitter. The first preamble generator(1300) is used for generating the first preamble as a synchronous preamble by using an aperiodic sequence having an aperiodic correlation characteristic. The second preamble generator(1310) is used for generating the second preamble as a channel estimation preamble by using the aperiodic sequence. The transmitter is used for multiplexing the first and the preambles and transmitting the multiplexed preambles as a preamble of the UWB communication system.
