<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element of which the inorganic material thin film such as an anti-reflection film is deposited directly on a resin molding body without forming an organic hard coat layer, and the durability is sufficiently secured. <P>SOLUTION: This optical element is subjected to all the stresses generated in a multi-layer film formed on a molded resin as a compressive stress. Especially, it is preferable that the compressive stress is 120Pa x m or less. This stress can be adjusted with the thickness of the film directly on the surface of the resin.
