<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time to be able to detect the angle of rotation, when a source voltage for excitation falls off temporarily. <P>SOLUTION: This device has a reference signal generating processing means for generating a reference signal, an angle of rotation detection part for generating an output signal by receiving the reference signal, a feedback controller 91 for specifying the angle of rotation based on the output signal, feedback-controlling and calculating the angle of rotation, and a self-running range changing processing means for reducing the self-running range of the angle of rotation velocity, when setting of angle of rotation is initiated. In this manner, the running range of the angle of rotation velocity at the initiation of setting the angle of rotation is reduced, so that the setting time can be shortened.
